In January of 2010, Binary Tree's entire Sales team met before the start of LotusSphere to discuss the coming year. At that point in time the sales team numbered ten people. Seven months later the Sales team met again, this time in Chicago. The sales team has since grown to almost double the size, now nineteen. We have expanded with offices in the UK, Sweden, and now also in Bangkok Thailand.

Great Job Team. I'm proud to be a part of it.

As you likely know, I work for Binary Tree. While we are the leading standard for migration from multiple platforms to IBM Domino, we also send data the other way. I like to think of Binary Tree as your email moving company. We won't tell you where to buy your house but we can move your mail and data there for you.
We have implemented a partner certification program for partners to undertake the services side of our business. In an effort to be help contribute to this process I completed my certification on our CMT for Exchange product today. This makes me a Certified Support Specialist with CMT for Exchange.

I have a question that I'm having a challenge finding an answer to.
With Windows based Lotus Notes client, if take the following URL and click on it, or launch it in a browser it will launch Notes and start the intended Database, in this case the local database of name.nsf.
notes:///names.nsf
If I try this same thing on a Mac, what can I expect? Should this work as well?

This two-day conference to be held in Munich will deal with the topic of migration and coexistence between the messaging systems currently on offer from Microsoft, IBM and Google.
COMpentos 2009 Migration & Coexistence:
- is a vendor-independent platform for IT operators, project managers and decision makers
- provides ad-free knowledge transfer at the highest level between vendors and companies
- enables professional pooling of experience between individual companies
WorldCafé is a simple and effective method of bringing together a group of people for constructive discussions on a topic of common interest and thereby expanding the level of collective understanding.
The setting for a WorldCafé is very informal. The basic idea is to recreate the relaxed atmosphere of a street café in which people are able to converse freely and without inhibition.
An expert is assigned to each table to lead the conversation on a set topic. But what really matters is the exchange of views between the participants themselves.

I've recently started working with our Lotus Notes developers to re-write a user hierarchical rename process from a C++ API call to a move in hierarchy in LotusScript. I have to say that while I'm very excited about the Administration Process objects, the documentation and examples in the help are less than stellar even in the ND 8.5 designer client. One of the keys to making this dynamic was to be able to pass variables for the user's current certifier and the one we are moving to.
Set adminp = s.CreateAdministrationProcess(doc.OldAdminSvr(0)) ' server that we can create adminp requests
adminp.CertifierFile =certfile ' certifier file we are going to use to update user
adminp.CertifierPassword =certpass ' password for file above
adminp.UseCertificateAuthority = False ' Using CA then change to true
adminp.CertificateAuthorityOrg = currentCert.Abbreviated 'This line was needed to identify the old certifier.
adminPNoteId adminp.MoveUserInHierarchyRequest(oldUserName, newcertifier.abbreviated, False)
All of the above we found and worked great. The request was submitted to the Administrative process. When issued the following:
adminPNoteId = adminp.MoveUserInHierarchyComplete(adminPNoteId )
to complete the process it still used the old certifier and the old password. Even though the process completed successfully, we didn't really do anything. So no where did the documentation state this but after a few hours of trying 20 million different things we found that if we reset the CertifierFile and CertifierPassword objects to the new values (certifier we are moving to) it worked. So we added the following:
adminp.CertifierFile = newcertfile ' file we are going to use to update user
adminp.CertifierPassword = newcertpass ' password for file
adminPNoteId adminp.MoveUserInHierarchyComplete(adminPNoteId )
Low and behold the rename completed and next was the waiting for the user to accept the new name. Next is build in dynamics to use the CA Process if it is available.

BinaryTree Releases Two Software Upgrades - CMT for Coexistence 2.1 and CMT Inspector Enterprise 3.8
BinaryTree has released two software release upgrades.
CMT for Coexistence with ZApp provides seamless, high-fidelity email and calendar coexistence between IBM Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange
CMT for Coexistence with ZApp™ acts as a traffic cop on the Domino server by identifying message types and automatically “massaging” them to produce the intended results. It enables your Outlook users to see and act on Notes graphic links, buttons, forms, and other email-enabled applications, and it keeps even custom and complex recurring calendar events in sync between your Notes and Outlook users.
If you need Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange to coexist and play nice, you are facing a serious challenge. No matter which root cause landed you in this situation, be it a merger, acquisition, an executive initiative to change platforms, or a cloud computing/Software as a Service (SaaS) initiative, setting up coexistence that you and your users will be satisfied with is not as straightforward as implementing the Microsoft Transporter Suite
For more information on CMT For Coexistence visit http://www.binarytree.com/products/cmtco.aspx
CMT Inspector for Lotus Notes (Enterprise Edition) enables organizations to analyze their email and applications to properly plan Domino upgrades, consolidations, and migrations
Plan your Lotus Domino upgrade, consolidation, or migration with our robust Lotus Notes analysis and reporting software, CMT Inspector for Lotus Notes (Enterprise Edition). Gather detailed information about your Domino servers, email users, and on the design and data characteristics of Domino databases. This robust software enables you to examine Domino in unprecedented detail, equipping you with vital knowledge to ensure success.
